1931: Once Upon a Time in New York
Italian filmmaker Luigi Vanzi directs this Prohibition-era gangster tale from a script co-written by Tony Anthony, who stars as a small-time hood in way over his head after cutting a deal with a vile gangster. When his plan to steal a fortune goes awry, he finds himself at the heart of a mob war. Richard Conte and Irene Papas co-star in this bullet-riddled crime drama set in 1930s New York but filmed largely in small-town West Virginia.
