1987 Winston 500
Coupled with his win at Dover Downs later that same year, youngster Davey Allison's victorious run at the 1987 Winston 500 made him the first driver in NASCAR history to ever win two or more races in his rookie season. But the '87 Talladega classic -- the first race to see every driver top speeds of over 200 mph -- was also the site of Bill Elliot's record-setting lap, where he pushed his car to an unbelievable speed of 212.809 mph.
