In this offbeat comedy, debt-ridden, down-on-his-luck discouraged poet -- and incorrigible ladies' man -- Samson Shillitoe (Sean Connery) can't seem to muster the inspiration to complete his masterpiece. Worried that his frustration will soon get the better of him, live-in friend Rhoda (Joanne Woodward) urges him to see a psychiatrist who specializes in writer's block. But in a mad world, the cure just may do more harm than good!
