Winner of the Grand Prize at the 1986 Havana Film Festival, Humberto Solás's political drama chronicles the story, beginning in 1932, of two Cuban brothers on very different paths. While successful Javier (César Évora) adapts to the country's changing politics, his brother Dario (Jorge Trinchet) turns to anarchy. Cuba grows increasingly dangerous for both men as Fidel Castro and his revolutionaries threaten the current regime.
