A Star Fell from Heaven
When a renowned singer loses his voice after accidentally drinking cologne, the talented-but-unknown Josef (Joseph Schmidt) is hired to dub the star's voice in an upcoming film. But when the press gets hold of the story, it's Josef who becomes the star. This classic German comedy features renowned German-Jewish tenor Schmidt in his second-to-last role. Songs include "Una furtiva lagrima" from Donizetti's opera "L'Elisir d'Amore."
