When gay male nurse Jan (Charles Busch, who also wrote and directed the film) arrives to take care of ailing Mrs. A (Polly Bergen), he and her offbeat 13-year-old grandson, Gil (P.J. Verhoest), form a unique bond in this poignant drama. With wit and compassion, the fastidious Danish nurse helps the orphaned Gil adjust to the difficult changes in his life and the rocky transition to adulthood.
