Using archival film, photos and newsreel footage, this hourlong documentary directed by Amber Edwards chronicles the influential black cultural movement known as the Harlem Renaissance. Encompassing literature, music and the visual and performing arts, the movement -- which brought the achievements of black Americans to the fore -- reached its pinnacle between the mid-1920s and early '30s, later inspiring authors Richard Wright and Ralph Ellison.
