Alexander the Great
Macedonian king Alexander the Great (Richard Burton), son of Philip (Fredric March) and Olympius (Danielle Darrieux), achieved what most people thought impossible: He united ancient Greece's tribes and led them in battle against the formidable Persian empire. By age 33, Alexander's conquests created a Greek kingdom that encompassed most of the known world. Director Robert Rossen's sweeping epic was filmed in Spain and Italy.
