Common Sense Note

Parents need to know that there's not too much to raise eyebrows here except for the requisite sci-fi action (space battles, some fistfights, etc.). Since one of the show's major themes is the long-running conflict with a genetically engineered branch of humans who strongly believe that they're superior to other races (and therefore destined to rule the galaxy), topics like racial purity and social Darwinism are often discussed, and chances are you won't agree with everything the characters have to say.

No nudity or onscreen sex. Some flirting and relationships.

Violence

Everything from fistfights, martial arts, and swordfights to full-on spaceship battles, but little gore. None of the action really seems very dangerous.

Language

Fairly infrquent and pretty mild: "hell," "damn," etc.

The ship operates as a military vessel, and the crew generally follows orders. A lot of political factions are vying for power, but it's usually quite clear which ones are hoping to make life better for humanity and which are trying to make life better for themselves. Typical interpersonal issues for an ongoing drama with character-driven plotlines.
