Count Waldner is determined to save his family fortune through a suitable marriage for his daughter Arabella (Ashley Putnam). But his other daughter, Zdenka (Gianna Rolandi) -- who was raised as a boy to save money -- is in love with Arabella's suitor, Matteo (Keith Lewis). Meanwhile, Arabella falls for mysterious stranger Mandryka (John Bröcheler) in this superb production of Richard Strauss's opera from the Glyndebourne Festival Opera Company.
