After falling in love in the early 1950s, Lt. Lionel Hardcastle (Geoffrey Palmer) and nurse Jean Pargetter (Judi Dench) part ways when he's sent to Korea and move on with their lives after his attempts to contact her go unanswered. When budding author Lionel searches for a secretary 38 years later, he unknowingly calls the agency Jean owns. After an awkward reintroduction, they resume their romantic relationship in this BBC comedy.
