Bach: St. John Passion: Live from Tokyo's Suntory Hall
Masaaki Suzuki conducts the Bach Collegium Japan choir and orchestra in an inspired performance of "St. John Passion" recorded at Tokyo's Suntory Hall, featuring soloists Gerd Tuerck, Stephan MacLeod, Chiyuki Urano, Miduri Suzuki and Robin Blaze. Specializing in Baroque music, the Bach Collegium Japan plays this concert with a pared-down 50-piece orchestra to re-create the music as it might have been presented originally in the 18th century.
