A Rwandan teenager goes through a horrific experience in his war-torn country, including watching his parents being violently killed. But when he's adopted by a Los Angeles couple, he has trouble adjusting to his new environment. Soon, he becomes engaged in the street battles of South Central Los Angeles -- until a retired boxing coach takes him under his wing and channels the youth's anger into the ring.
