James Levine conducts the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus in this 2000 presentation of Ludwig van Beethoven's "Fidelio" -- the same musical masterpiece immortalized in Stanley Kubrick's final film, Eyes Wide Shut. Karita Mattila (soprano) and Ben Heppner (tenor) perform the principal singing roles, with support from René Pape, Robert Lloyd, Jennifer Welch-Babidge, Matthew Polenzani and Falk Struckmann.
