Cyril Diederich conducts the Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra in a spirited performance of Hector Berlioz's aesthetically innovative musical drama "Symphonie Fantastique" (which he composed in response to the intense and unrequited passion he felt for Irish actress Harriet Smithson). A rendition of "Les Nuits d'Été" ("Summer Nights") features an affecting performance by soprano Françoise Pollet.
