Nineteenth century Paris in all its Bohemian splendor enthralls in this film, the first of HBO's Composers' Specials series, which teaches young classical music aficionados about the lives and loves of famous musicians. Maurice Godin plays the charismatic Bizet, who, during what may have been his most creative period -- when he wrote his legendary "Carmen" -- befriends a 12-year-old girl (Brittany Madgett) upset about her father's disappearance.
