This latter-day adaptation of Anna Sewell's novel uses animation to recount the tale of the heroic horse Black Beauty. Beginning with his foal days in the English countryside, the movie follows Black Beauty as he grows into a stallion. When a stable fire interrupts Black Beauty's rural idyll, a tragic chain of events follows, culminating in the once-proud horse pulling a carriage in a Victorian-era slum.
