A teenaged girl from the big city (Jennifer Mckenzie) volunteers at the local pound where an injured black horse is in jeopardy of being put down. Her overprotective Father (Luke Perry) reluctantly agrees to let her adopt the horse and spend the summer in country with her Grandpa (played by Academy Award Nominated actor- Bruce Davison) - rehabilitating Black Beauty. They each learn lessons in trust and love.
