A retired Chinese army officer (played by Jet Li, who also helms the action in his directorial debut) squares off against some corrupt American military figures in occupied Tsang Tao at the end of World War II. The film features European boxing champion Kurt Roland Pettersson and kickboxing champion Paulo H.P. Tocha. Of particular note, Li stretches himself as a martial artist by employing American boxing techniques in some fight sequences.
