Box of Moonlight

1997 Rated R 1hr 51m

A trip originally planned for business turns into the healthy unraveling of a middle-aged man's uptight world. When Al Fountain (John Turturro) sees his work contract canceled, he searches for the lake he remembers from childhood. What he finds is a carefree young man who chips away at Al's mechanical existence. Sam Rockwell co-stars as the easygoing eccentric who shows Al that having a childlike spirit is not only possible, it's essential.

Other features

A well-put-together disc, considering the film's modest indie roots: There's a 1.66:1 widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital Surround Sound, the theatrical trailer, cast and crew bios, and a commentary by director Tom DiCillo. Unfortunately, there are no English subtitles -- something essential for a movie with commentary. Spanish and French subtitles are available.
