Cat Power: Speaking for Trees: A Film by Mark Borthwick

2004 Rated NR 2hr

Performer Cat Power (born Chan Marshall) stars in this quirky film by Mark Borthwick that blends music and images in what at first may appear to be an extended music video. Power sings her own tunes (such as "You Are Free" and "I Don't Blame You") and plays her guitar as she wanders through idyllic outdoor scenes that at once isolate the music and elevate it to poetry, making the movie a statement about the relationship between song and nature.
