Chang: A Drama of the Wilderness
This silent, 1927 docudrama filmed in Thailand (then known as Siam) chronicles the lives of a family struggling to survive on the perimeter of an unforgiving jungle. Tribesman Kru leaves behind his wife and children as he stalks the leopards decimating his livestock. In the process, he unwittingly sets off a sequence of events sparking a massive elephant stampede that lays waste to Kru's village in the spectacular finale.
