Children of God
Director Seung-jun Yi's poignant documentary chronicles the lives of desperate children scraping for sustenance along the banks of the Baghmati River in Nepal, a sacred site where the ashes of the dead are scattered. Through the eyes of 12-year-old Alesh Poudel and others, cameras capture the heartbreaking realities of river survival, which includes pillaging corpses for food and retrieving coins tossed into the river as funeral offerings.
