In this documentary, eight Torrance, Calif., high school students honor the life of Japanese-American alum Ted Tanouye, posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II and whose family was relocated to the internment camps. Through interviewing veterans and conducting historical research, the students learn about the war's impact, underscore the civil rights abuses of the day and find parallels between past and present.
