Even if you're not looking for love, it finds you. Just ask Clinton (Andy Garcia), a small-time crook who makes a living by smuggling birds, and Nadine (Ellen Barkin), a former prostitute who can't help being drawn to the charismatic Clinton. But their relationship is soon put to the ultimate test when their past catches up with them, dragging them into an abyss of weapons trafficking, violence and worse.
