After taking the blame for a murder he didn't commit, Felipe (Pedro Infante) is sent to a faraway prison on Las Islas Marias, where he's worked to the bone to repent for his "sins." But upon returning home, Felipe is horrified to find that his family has changed in ways he could never imagine. Can he restore his life to the way things used to be, or will he be forever scarred by the tragic circumstances that befell his family?
