SEASON 1
Summary of Season 1 (2005) - 2 discs
Geena Davis is the United States' first female commander in chief in this groundbreaking drama. Although the dying president encourages Vice President Allen (Davis) to resign and let the conservative Speaker of the House (Donald Sutherland) take over, she won't quit. Her refusal to relinquish her post makes history -- and helps mobilize her political enemies. Although the series was short-lived, Davis's performance earned her a Golden Globe.
Summary of Season 2 (2006) - 2 discs
In this second installment of episodes, scheming Speaker of the House Templeton (Donald Sutherland) has to take over when the president's appendix ruptures aboard Air Force One, and President Allen (Geena Davis) tries to pass the Equal Rights Amendment. Despite winning a Golden Globe for her portrayal of the nation's first female president, Davis failed to win reelection for another season of this political drama, which was cancelled in 2006.
