Common Sense Note

Parents need to know that this updated Dallas series picks up in present day with aging original characters returning to their bickering, plotting ways, often through the actions of their now-grown children. With few exceptions, most of the characters are motivated by greed and power and will lie, steal, and manipulate their way to their goals, so role models are hard to come by. Steamy bedroom scenes with simulated sex under the sheets and women shown in their underwear are common, as is language like "s--t" and "hell" and some rough-up squabbles when tempers fly. This fast-paced, addictive drama series is sure to win over a lot of adult viewers, but it's not recommended for teens.

Sexual Content

Simulated sex with women in underwear and men undressed from the waist up and lots of steamy make-out scenes. Some women use their sex appeal to influence men's decisions. Make-out sessions, kissing, foreplay, and fondling are fair game, and there's the potential for cheating among the characters.

Violence

Fistfights, slapping, and other scuffles are just part of the landscape for this contentious cast of characters. Many people also use guns for protection.

Language

It's not gratuitous, but words like "hell," "damn," "son of a bitch," "a--hole," and "s--t" are used, as are put-downs like "whore."

Social Behavior

Loyalties sway based on greed, desire for power, and longstanding family feuds. While some characters have noble intentions and act for the greater good, others manipulate every situation and person within reach to get what they want.

Consumerism

Not applicable

Drugs / Tobacco / Alcohol

Adults are often shown with a glass or bottle in their hand, and some drink to the point of intoxication. A few characters have a history of overindulgence. Drugs are used to remove characters' inhibitions and make them easier to manipulate.
