Bernie Fine (D.W. Moffett) at last finds the family life he's longed for when he weds Liz O'Reilly (Tracy Pollan) and happily plays father to her daughter, Jane, in this tearjerker about a family torn apart by illness and child abduction. Liz and Bernie soon become the proud parents of a son, but their world disintegrates when Liz is diagnosed with cancer and Jane's no-good biological dad kidnaps her. Cloris Leachman also stars.
