Death in the Garden
When a revolution breaks out in a South American mining town, a roguish adventurer (Georges Marchal), an aging miner (Charles Vanel), a beautiful prostitute (Simone Signoret), a deaf mute (Michèle Girardon) and an activist minister (Michel Piccoli) escape the despotic regime and flee to the jungle. As our heroes descend further into the wild, master director Luis Buñuel again examines themes of religion, betrayal and greed.
