Dengue Fever: Sleepwalking Through the Mekong
This engaging documentary follows Cambodian-born singer Chhom Nimol and her American rock band, Dengue Fever, as they tour Cambodia in 2005, revitalizing that country's distinctive, Asian-infused rock 'n' roll sound of the 1960s and '70s. Visiting venues in Phnom Penh and other locales, the band jams and records with locally renowned musicians, at once reviving the nation's Khmer-flavored vintage rock genre and updating it for the 21st century.
