Australian dancer and choreographer Stanton Welch has created an energetic and provocative work, and this performance film of what may be his most intriguing composition shows off both his impressive range and the talents of the Australian Ballet. Though it demonstrates Welch's grounding in classical dance, "Divergence" also is a modern composition, which ebbs and flows with powerful movements and calming interludes.
