Looking for an outlet to express her feelings -- and to follow in her mother's footsteps -- Cairo University poetry student Dunia (Hanan Turk) pursues her ambition to become a belly dancer in this Egyptian drama. With religious and cultural constraints standing in her way, Dunia begins a journey -- aided by her literature professor (Mohamed Mounir) -- that forces her to confront the traditions that have crushed her ability to experience pleasure.
