After the passing of his friend and fellow shoeshine man, a kindly bootblack (Cantinflas) unexpectedly finds himself tasked with arranging the burial -- and with taking the man's young son, Chavita (Paquito Fernández), under his wing. More surprises await when he meets the boy's teacher, who convinces him that he, too, should return to school. Manola Saavedra co-stars in this engaging Spanish-language comedy.
