Common Sense Note
Parents need to know that this movie is filled with things that Futurama is known for: lots of crude jokes, pop references, silly gags, mild profanity, sexual references, and social commentary. Just because it's animated doesn't mean it's for kids, so be aware of the adult content before popping it in the DVD player for Family Movie Night.
Sexual
Content
Innuendoes everywhere you look. Bender and Fanny talk about sex, make out on the dinner table, moan and groan. A Cirque de Soleil parody called Gearotica features female robots with spread legs and a pair of gyrating robots exchanging a CD, as though they are having sex. Leela is briefly shown removing her shirt.
Violence
Laser blasts, leech bites, murder of a woman whose body is stepped on, excessive shooting by gangsters (last about 20 full seconds.)
Language
Lots of middle-range cussing. "Damn,""hell,"" bastard," "vagina," "melons," a discussion about butts, "crap," "ass," "give her a jump," "she's got a nice pair," "I kissed his ass from cheek to shining cheek," and so on.
Social
Behavior
Bender drinks, schemes, or womanizes every waking moment; Leela is prone to fits of rage; and Leo Wong (whose stereotyped portrayal might offend some viewers) is dedicated to destroying ecosystems the universe over.
Consumerism
Product placement includes XM Radio, TiVo, Tetris, Windows Vista, Las Vegas and its hotels (parodied, but recognizable.)
Drugs / Tobacco /
Alcohol
Some characters smoke, many drink (Bender always drinks,) and there are pot references.
