Gidon Kremer: Mozart: Violin Concertos 1-5
Latvian-born violinist Gidon Kremer and Armenian violist Kim Kashkashian join maestro Nikolaus Harnoncourt and the Vienna Philharmonic to perform Mozart's violin concertos Nos.1-5 and Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat. Mozart composed the five concertos in 1775, at the tender age of 19, and Kremer -- who, incidentally, is the founder of Austria's famed Kremerata Musica chamber music festival -- renders the works cleanly and expressively.
