Rock group front man Rusty Wells (Elvis Presley) and his band are charged with keeping an eye on Valerie (Shelley Fabares), the daughter of a mob boss (Harold J. Stone), over spring break. Although Valerie falls for Rusty, she drops him when she discovers he works for her dad. Her new beau (Fabrizio Mioni), however, may threaten more than Rusty's love life. Elvis performs the title tune, "Puppet on a String," "Startin' Tonight" and more.
