Giorgio Croci conducts the Stagione d'Opera Italiana in this open-air staging of Giuseppe Verdi's "Aida," recorded live in 1997 during the Opera Festival St. Margarethen. A military commander is torn between his duty to his country and his love for a beautiful Ethiopian princess who has been thrown into slavery despite her royal roots. But a love triangle is formed when the Pharaoh's daughter expresses her love for the handsome captain.
