Shot in cinema verité style, this award-winning documentary follows three troubled urban youths as they spend a year on a working farm in Brewster, N.Y., as part of the Green Chimneys program. Twelve-year-old Eddie, 13-year-old Anthony and 11-year-old Mike -- each of whom has been entangled in the social service system for years -- learn socialization skills and heal old wounds by nurturing a single animal for the duration of their stay.
