Despite his attachment to New York, 8-year-old Iván (Sebastian Perez) is uprooted when his parents decide to return to their native Chile -- and things only get worse when he learns his mother is pregnant, which means he'll soon lose his place as the family's only child. But the indignity is complete when the local schoolkids begin calling him "Gringuito" -- little Gringo -- which prompts Iván to run away from home in favor of life on the street.
