Handel's operatic portrait of Giulio Cesare (Sarah Connolly) and Cleopatra (Danielle de Niese) is brought magnificently to life by David McVicar's staging at the 2005 Glyndebourne Festival. With the period reset to pre-World War I Europe, this production combines exotic visuals with Bollywood-style spectacle. William Christie conducts the Glyndebourne Chorus and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
