Politics and romance are the twin focuses of this witty sitcom starring John Ritter as John Hartman, a senator's aide who falls in love with liberal press secretary Georgie Anne Lahti (Markie Post), despite their often opposing points of view. Beginning in Washington, D.C., and moving to small-town Arkansas, the show follows John and Georgie Anne's efforts to remain true to their convictions. Billy Bob Thornton and Ed Asner co-star.

The high-jinks continue in the second season of this early 1990s comedy series (developed by the creator of "Designing Women"), co-starring Leslie Jordan and Conchata Ferrell.
