In this adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's posthumously released novel, American writer David Bourne (Jack Huston) and his new wife, Catherine (Mena Suvari), travel through Europe on their honeymoon, where they meet the beautiful Marita (Caterina Murino). As the Bournes extend their vacation, Catherine brings Marita into their sexual life, starting a love triangle that excites and intrigues both spouses, but threatens their marriage.
