This landmark police procedural chronicles the beleaguered professional and personal lives of law enforcement officers working at a gritty metropolitan precinct plagued by crime and awash in abject poverty. Playing the overworked Capt. Frank Furillo, Daniel J. Travanti heads up an ensemble cast that includes Joe Spano as Det. Henry Goldblume and Veronica Hamel as public defender Joyce Davenport. Mike Post's theme song became a Top 40 hit.
