Three young friends -- Yip Fai (Chow Yun-Fat), Kong (Alex Man) and Kong's girlfriend, Anna (Cecilia Yip) -- struggle to stick together during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong in 1941. But sticking together becomes all the more difficult when Yip Fai and Anna begin to fall for each other as the rest of their world begins to fall apart.
