Convinced that their lives are worthless after years of living on the streets, Keisha and Pookie are content to keep smoking crack and doing cocaine -- the only things that seem to offer them any comfort. But when music from a nearby church lures Keisha out of her misery and she slowly begins to rebuild her life, Pookie chooses the status quo and sinks even further into his addictions. Can God save them both, or is Pookie beyond redemption?
