Common Sense Note

Parents need to know that the main character is an average teen girl learning to navigate her newfound success while attending public high school. She could potentially inspire wannabe musicians as she learns lessons about the business, including responsibility, how to treat people who devote themselves to your success, and how to become a role model. Various love interests keep the drama coming, but nothing is too risqué.

Sexual Content

Light sexual innuendo, kissing, typical teenage flirting.

Social Behavior

The main character is coming of age and learning that fame often means becoming a role model; her songs speak to teens about real emotions (not just pop love songs), and she's a strong female character for young girls. She chose to stay in school instead of taking her record company up on their offer of a private tutor.
