Lakshmi Narayan stars as the title character, an Anglo-Indian Christian girl who gives herself, mind, body and soul, to her true love, Shashi (Vikram) -- a devout Hindu. Unfortunately, their passion results in an unplanned pregnancy and leaves the unmarried Julie facing a difficult decision when Shashi leaves for Calcutta. Will she keep the baby? Will the lovers reunite? Or will their disapproving families deepen the rift between them?
