Chasing her dream of becoming a professional dancer, Phoenix (Kitty Zhang Yuqi) leaves her rural home for Shanghai. Determined to hang on until she manages some kind of break, Phoenix takes a custodial job at a dance school. While she's looked down on as a hick by most of the students and faculty, the school's wealthy playboy owner, Ron (Leon Jay Williams), catches Phoenix's unique hip-hop dancing style and offers her the chance of a lifetime.
