Krzysztof Penderecki: Seven Gates of Jerusalem
Polish composer Krysztof Penderecki conducts his own Symphony no. 7 ("Seven Gates of Jerusalem"), a massive work commissioned by the Israeli government in 1996, in this rousing 2000 performance at the Auditorium Debussy, Palais de Festival, Cannes. Penderecki is joined onstage by the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir and the Penderecki Festival Orchestra. Bonus materials include a profile on the composer by filmmaker Andreas Missler-Morell.
